Quick overview
An FB4 equipped laser light show projector is one that has Pangolin’s FB4 control hardware integrated inside of the projector itself.
General information
What is FB4?
FB4 is a media server for laser shows and supports PC control, DMX/ArtNET control, timecode control, as well as stand-alone (auto) operation. All versions of FB4, include QuickShow software FREE. FB4 equipped lasers give you vastly more control workflows to benefit from and simplify your setup, helping you integrate lasers into a much broader range of multimedia setups.
Types of FB4
- FB4-SK – our proprietary version of FB4, designed into lasers we manufacture with KVANT. FB4 SK offers upgraded features like color balance mode, motorized dichroic filters, and improved resolution to name a few. FB4-SK further simplifies your setup with integrated switches built onto the hardware, including ethernet in/out, DMX in/out, and ArtNET in/out.
- FB4 standard – our base mode FB4, with ethernet in, and onboard SD memory. Supports PC control, ArtNET control, timecode control, and stand-alone (auto) mode operation.
- FB4 DMX – our base mode FB4, with ethernet in, onboard SD memory, and added DMX daughterboard. Supports PC control, ArtNET control, DMX control, timecode control, and stand-alone (auto) mode operation.
- FB4 ILDA – our base mode FB4, with ethernet in, onboard SD memory, and added ILDA daughterboard. Supports PC control, ArtNET control, timecode control, ILDA control, and stand-alone (auto) mode operation.
- FB4 MAX – our base mode FB4, with ethernet in, onboard SD memory, and added DMX and ILDA daughterboards. Supports PC control, ArtNET control, DMX control, timecode control, ILDA control, and stand-alone (auto) mode operation.
- FB4 External – for client’s who own existing ILDA based laser projectors, and want FB4 functionality, we do offer an external version of the product. With this, we take the FB4 DMX controller, and build it into an external housing. So you can run ethernet, DMX or ArtNET to the FB4 external hardware, and then an ILDA cable to the back of your existing ILDA laser projector. FB4 External supports PC control, ArtNET control, DMX control, timecode control, and stand-alone (auto) mode operation.
Control Options
- PC mode – Where you directly connect to the laser via ethernet, from a PC.
- Lighting console mode – Where you can directly control the laser from a lighting console (with, or without the use of a PC and software).
- Stand-alone (auto) mode – Where you create your desired laser show content, save it to the FB4 memory inside the laser, and set a day, date, and time, for it to project back, automatically (no PC, triggering, etc. required – truly automatic).
- Timecode – FB4 also supports timecode. So you can run your laser projector with FB4, in a timecode based setup.
Who is FB4 for?
FB4 is designed for everyone. From those just getting started with lasers, who want a simple and easy to use laser show setup. To seasoned lighting professionals, who want to control lasers from a lighting console, or in conduction with other multimedia elements.
